Like so many things in life, it is important to have fun and my philosophy as photographer is to capture the appropriate emotion on camera yet at the same time capture the essence of the moment. Ultimately it is important to see the fun moment in every photo. I have a passion for life, a passion for photography and as such the energy that drives the desire to explore all boundaries in photography. At the end of the day a great photo is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and as such a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.
FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY
I love South African food and you will find my photographs filled with family favorites. My personal gastronomic journey began in my mom's kitchen as a teenager making fudge for my classmates. This humble start was where, I can truly say, my love affair with food began. I am just a simple photographer but combining my two passions in life, food and photography, made sense.
PEOPLE
I love the idea of being able to tell a story with a photograph and bring the picture I have in my mind alive. I think portraits are supposed to be fun experiences and I try to bring that into my photographs. I started taking portraits of my friends and family and from there my photography blossomed.
